The National Animal Industry Foundation (NAIF) began with an initial capital of approximately NT$1.23 billion, the bulk of which (NT$725 million) was a contribution from the Ministry of Agriculture and the remainder was inherited from the Taiwan Meat Development Foundation, the Poultry Development Foundation, and the Swine Improvement Foundation of Taiwan. The NAIF's revenue comes from:

2. Grants from animal industry groups
3. Grants from other sources
4. Interest income
5. Service fees
6. Other income
