Taiwan became a member of the WTO in 2002, as a result gaining access to most favored nation trading status with other members. In order to ensure the sustainable development of Taiwan’s poultry and livestock industry and to align itself with the global trend toward trade liberalization, the Taiwan government has taken energetic steps this year to support local livestock/poultry producers engaged in the export market, implementing a strong overseas promotional campaign encompassing the island’s livestock and poultry products of all types. The brand image for local products has been much enhanced, and overseas sales have increased in terms of both volume and value. This website has been designed as a platform for information and communication between related overseas enterprises and local producers of livestock and poultry products for export, strengthening the brands of local producers and stimulating export sales, in turn augmenting the reputation for quality and the visibility of Taiwan’s superior range of pork, chicken, duck, goose, and egg products on the international stage.
